Panasonic has introduced its 60 GHz multi-gigabit wireless circuit technology to accelerate the implementation of the "New Network Lifestyle" the company proposes.
The 60 GHz multi-gigabit wireless communication technology is based on WiGig and other network standards and the technology is positioned as a Smart Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The Smart ICT enables multi-gigabit wireless communication more than 20 times faster than conventional wireless LANs using the 60GHz frequency band.
In addition, through the optimisation of both the transceiver core and peripheral circuits, Smart ICT will also enable lower than 1W low-power, multi-gigabit wireless communication in the future. As a result, this technology allows the transfer of a 30-minute long compressed high definition video content within just 10 seconds.
Furthermore, the low power feature of the new wireless technology makes it suitable for compact mobile devices such as smartphones, which will let users of such devices easily get a glimpse of the New Network Lifestyle the ultra-high-speed wireless communication will bring about.
