Oracle Corp, Belmont, California is joining the rush into the systems integration business with the formation of Oracle Complex Systems Corp in – where else? – Washington DC. The new company will be pitching to the US Federal government and other major computer users, and believes that it is looking at a market worth $7,000m annually. Needless to say, database will have to be at the core of its customers’ requirements, but the company believes that Oracle Complex Systems can bring special skills to the competitive design of advanced relational database systems using any of the hardware on which the Oracle database management system is supported. The new Oracle company will have a specialist contingent of around 50 people, and has tapped Robert Lawrence, previously president of Systemhouse Federal Systems Inc, to head it.
