Oracle announced the release of Oracle WebLogic Server, 12c, the latest application server for conventional systems, engineered systems and cloud environments.

Oracle WebLogic Server is the most important feature of Oracle’s Cloud Application Foundation and the heart of the Oracle Fusion Middleware product family. It would deliver newer capabilities for building, deploying and running Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) applications, said Oracle.

It helps customers and partners lower their total cost of ownership and derive more value from their current application infrastructure, simultaneously reducing time-to-market and accelerating the development cycle for their applications.

It improves integration between Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and improves application security with the Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2, the SSL successor.

Oracle, vice president, Development Cameron Purdy said that with Oracle WebLogic Server 12c, customers can leverage the number one application server to get more out of their existing infrastructure, dramatically simplify application deployment and management and accelerate time-to-market with developer efficiency innovations.
