Openwave Systems, a provider of mediation platforms and tools for internet, has unveiled Mobile Internet ReadySet, a prepackaged platform that provides operators with a central point from which to offer mobile internet services.
Openwave said that the ReadySet provides a mobile internet offering consisting of traffic management tools including content adaptation and acceleration, bandwidth optimisation, and service promotion and billing, in a single package.
The company claims that with very low-cost hardware and standard pre-configured deployment options, the software product ReadySet is suitable for smaller operators and newer markets which require a quick return on investment for minimal capital outlay.
According to Openwave, ReadySet is a location-based infrastructure appliance that provides a full range of location-based services on mass-market devices to meet the varied needs of operators in growing markets. It provides voice messaging and call management offerings and also offers network operations managers a clear view across all aspects of mobile data subscriber activity, from mobile internet browsing to messaging to social networking.
John Giere, senior vice president of products and marketing at Openwave, said: “Openwave is committed to serving emerging markets and helping operators of all sizes offer subscribers the most advanced mobile internet and messaging experiences available.
“ReadySet provides smaller operators with the flexibility to rapidly deploy new services in a cost effective manner. We believe Mobile Internet ReadySet, as well as our location and messaging offerings, will enable smaller operators to effectively differentiate their customer offerings while growing their mobile data revenue.”
