NTT America, a wholly owned US subsidiary of NTT Communications, said that it is leveraging the global infrastructure of the parent company and its partnership with VMware to offer new and expanded capabilities across its data centres and hosting platforms.

The company said that the new virtualisation services combine its secure hosting infrastructure with VMware’s virtualisation platform to deliver foundation for hosted IT infrastructures.

According to NTT America, the virtualisation services offers benefits including higher server utilisation; reduced number of servers; lower overall cost; increased efficiency and scalability; rapid deployment of new applications; and enhanced management, control and reporting of their virtualised hosting offerings.

In addition, the services will enable customers to gain the advantages of a single point of contact for management, support and billing; and a consistent set of services based on NTT Communications’ global infrastructure.

Doug McMaster, VP of products and solutions at NTT America, said: “We are excited about our virtualisation services and the worldwide capabilities we can deliver. The global partnership between VMware and our parent company, NTT Communications, makes it possible for us to extend the advantages of virtualisation across our portfolio of dedicated hosting products and services, and enables our customers to quickly and cost-effectively meet their business goals.

“Virtualisation services enable customers to contain costs, improve scalability, rapidly deploy new applications, improve efficiency and usage of servers, and achieve high availability for their critical business applications.”

NTT America’s virtualisation services are available in its premier data centres located in San Jose, CA and Sterling, VA. Through unified capability designed by NTT Communications, NTT America is also offering virtualised hosting services in premier data centers located in London and Hong Kong, and later this year in Singapore.
