Tucson, Arizona-based Artisoft Inc is following Novell Inc out of the hardware business – and disposing of its interests to the same repository that Novell chose – Microdyne Corp of Alexandria, Virginia. It has definitive agreement to sell substantially all its Eagle Technology assets to Microdyne for about $17.5m, of which about $10m is inventory, property and other tangible assets. Eagle Technology, with sales of about $53m during the past 12 months, will become part of Microdyne’s networking products division. It expects a transition period during which Eagle will contribute only modestly. We have made provisions for an interval during which product and distributor inventories will need to be balanced so that our business going forward will be orderly, the company said.
