Newbridge Networks Corp, Ottawa, Ontario, has got the solutions not boxes bug and intends to present a collection of 27 new, or newish, products at Telecom ’91 – products for both wide and local area networks. The new offerings are expected to include a Transmission Access Product, TAP, designed to give users access to extra bandwidth on demand, and new software which enables 4602 MainStreet network manager, control third party devices running Simple Network Management Protocol – SNMP – frame relay and ISDN upgrades. The company has also decided to open up its MainStreet 3600/3645 bandwidth managers and has announced an Open Network Engine, or ONE, offering application developers a direct command interface to the network and access to network information, aiding in the development of more intelligent networks.
