Software offerings company Neverfail releases its Virtual Availability Director. The new offering harnesses Neverfail’s server protection technology combined with VMware’s vSphere Client application to provide a single console from which administrators can manage and maintain the continuous availability of all business-critical applications.
VMware users can extend the vSphere Client by implementing the Neverfail Virtual Availability Director to provide one offering to keep applications – whether virtual or physical – up and running in the event of downtime, said Neverfail.
Neverfail said the Virtual Availability Director integrates real-time data replication with application-level monitoring and management to provide customers with better data protection and the offering leverages virtualised stand-by servers to reduce the impact of downtime while allowing users to stay connected.
The Virtual Availability Director acts as a plug-in to VMware’s vSphere management system and it enables companies to manage the availability of all business applications from the vSphere client, including those that reside on physical platforms, said the company.
The texas-based software offerings company said Virtual Availability Director offers application-aware monitoring of critical servers, protection from OS/application-layer failure scenarios and the ability to enable faster recovery times and more granular recovery options which makes it ideal for VMware customers with a need for advanced protection options.
Neverfail chief technology officer PaddyFalls said the Neverfail Virtual Availability Director is able to minimise application downtime by protecting organisations from server, hardware and application failures.
"This allows any customer using VMware vSphere to manage continuous availability fortier-1 applications from within vCenter, whether the applications are in virtual, physical or mixed environments," said PaddyFalls.
