NEC said its TouchPass Secure Single Sign-On uses biometric finger-imaging to identify individual users and authorize access to computers, networks and applications.

TouchPass allows us to consolidate multiple login and password requirements for our staff and physicians partners, and provides a fast, simple and uniform method for them to gain controlled access to our systems, said Scott Cebula, vice president, Information Services, MemorialCare.

The TouchPass forms part of a suite of products designed to provide hospital systems and healthcare payers with tools, technology and services to improve security, safety and communication.

Recently, NEC Solutions also unveiled its Patient Safety Consulting and Professional Services practice, set up to help healthcare organizations improve their operations through technological innovation, workflow enhancement and business process re-engineering.
