Media Vision Inc, whose low-cost video compression decompression technology was licensed by Microsoft Corp for Video for Windows, has now introduced the Pro MovieSpectrum. This is an add-in board for MS-DOS personal computers that makes capturing motion video easier. Playback of this motion video requires no additional hardware. The company will bundle with the Pro MovieSpectrum a unique AVI-to-QuickTime conversion program enabling Video for Windows files to play with Apple Computer Inc’s QuickTime on a Macintosh. The company, which was set up in 1990 licenses its video software, chips and add-in boards on the OEM market to companies developing high quality, compressed digital video products for Apple Macs, OS/2, Windows and MS-DOS personal computers and Unix workstations.
