Digital wireless network provider KORE Telematics has deployed Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers to support its continued growth.
The ASR 1000 Series routers help enable KORE to scale its business to support approximately 11 million wireless devices while delivering reliability, network redundancy and superior system performance.
In addition, the routers series is powered by the scalable and programmable application-aware network, the Cisco QuantumFlow Processor, which provides security services, quality of service, Network Based Application Recognition (NBAR), IOS Flexible Packet Matching (FPM), broadband aggregation and Cisco Unified Border Element with wire speeds up to 20 gigabits per second.
KORE Telematics specialises in the machine-to-machine (M2M) communications market, and delivers service to approximately more than 600 application providers, powering applications ranging from asset management to vehicle location, utility metering and payment processing.
Cisco said that the KORE GSM network spans more than 93% of the US, Canada and the Caribbean, with more than 50,000 cell sites and more than 400 roaming partners in 220 countries worldwide.
KORE Telematics president and chief operating officer Alex Brisbourne said that network is their business, so they must ensure that it will handle everything their growing business throws at it, while providing the proverbial five 9s of reliability.
