Kony plans to expand its European business to provide solutions to organisations across the continent.

The enterprise mobility company has announced that it will increase its investment in new sales and technical experts in Europe.

Kony will also host customer events to help with the expansion. The first of these will take place in London on 18 May. In addition, the first ever Kony World conference will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, featuring keynotes from Kony executives and industry experts.

The stepping up of the strategy follows the appointment of SAP UK’s Head of Innovation, Jonathan Best, as vice-president in Europe and Africa.

"Today, enterprise mobile apps have become a strategic imperative for businesses to effectively compete in this new mobile era," said Thomas E. Hogan, CEO, Kony, Inc.

Hogan added: "Kony has helped many leading companies use mobility as a catalyst for innovation to drive business outcomes. Our goal is to expand our reach and deliver the highest level of value and service to our growing base of enterprise customers in the European region."

"An increasing number of firms are adopting a mobile-first approach, creating a mobile application environment for their employees that is not only more secure, open, and scalable but also a means for competitive advantage," said Angela Salmeron, research manager, IDC Mobile Enterprise Strategies EMEA.

Salmeron continued: "As a result, vendors are responding with next-generation cloud-based mobile application platforms, leveraging open technologies and standard web technologies, which are helping lower two of the largest barriers for enterprise adoption: initial up-front costs and time to market."
