ITC Global Security, an information security and secure networking firm, has been awarded a multi million pound contract by Fujitsu, to deliver and deploy network (LAN and WAN) transit technology and WAN optimisation in 48 sites across the globe.
According to ITC, the project will replace and standardise legacy technology, and is the first phase of a third party global transformation programme spanning 284 sites in over 90 countries. The Cisco-based switching system, incorporating enterprise products, is engineered to a common architecture and integrated with existing network equipment.
ITC said that it will undertake an optimisation project utilising Citrix WAN optimisation technology across sites with high wide area network latency, to enhance network performance. In addition, it provides improved performance of non-accelerated applications with the bandwidth previously used for other processes dedicated to operations.
The company said that the contract includes international logistics management, consultancy and network design by its network engineers working alongside Fujitsu project managers. It also includes application pre-configuration, installation and integration in all sites.
