iDirect says its platform will provide Farmacias Similares with higher quality, enhanced voice communication between more than 600 of its pharmacies and its headquarters offices in Mexico City, in addition to a more reliable and efficient inventory and distribution control capability.
The iDirect technology will also facilitate the updating of operating software and additional internal network throughout the Farmacias pharmacy chain. Installation of the initial 600 sites is scheduled to be completed by 31 July.
The iDirect satellite network was developed to bring improved bandwidth utilization, and better network management tools. John Kealey says it is ideal for an application such as Farmacias Similares where the demand for efficient, cost-effective broadband access, particularly networks that can support voice, video and broadband IP over satellite, is increasing.
