The Sunnyvale, California-based maker of business performance management software technology says its will fork out the cash for fuel efficient cars that return mileage of at least 45 miles per gallon (around 5.3 liters per 100km).
While pollution is perhaps most visible in third world countries running smoky diesel engines, it is in fact the US that dumps the most tons (around 22) of carbon monoxide emissions into the atmosphere per person per year. The UK, Japan, and Germany are also big polluters.
