HP has been selected by Samuel A. Ramirez & Co, a New York-based full-service securities firm, to provide HP 3PAR Utility Storage, a virtualised, multitenant disk array, to replace its native SAN.

The 3PAR Utility Storage is a key element of HP’s converged infrastructure strategy, which will improve Samuel A. Ramirez & Co’s customer responsiveness and lower costs.

The Samuel A. Ramirez & Co, infrastructure now includes: HP 3PAR F400 Storage System, 3PAR Remote Copy and 3PAR Virtual Copy Software.

The above offerings improves network performance by a factor of 24 as a result of the HP offering’s wide striping technology, which ensures workloads are distributed evenly across storage capacity resources.

In addition, the offerings lower costs and reduce data centre footprint by deploying a single HP 3PAR Storage System instead of three legacy arrays.

Reduce risk with HP 3PAR Remote Copy and HP 3PAR Virtual Copy Software, which deliver quick, efficient backup and disaster recovery.

Samuel A. Ramirez & Co chief technology officer Jason Elizaitis said a slow, unresponsive storage infrastructure was clearly impacting their ability to keep up with the demands of their time-sensitive business.

"HP 3PAR Utility Storage provided us with a scalable infrastructure that improved our current response times to customers, while allowing us to expand our business without concern that our storage infrastructure wouldn’t keep up," Elizaitis said.
