Under the terms of the agreement, HealthWatch’s customers will have access to ProxyNet, ProxyMed’s national healthcare network for connectivity to payors, pharmacies, and laboratories, providing them the ability to utilize claims submission and status, eligibility and referral verification, lab test orders and results and prescription services. HealthWatch also will be able to offer a cobranded version of proxymed.com, ProxyMed’s physican office web portal, to their customers. Additionally, ProxyMed will be able to offer the HealthWatch Web-based HES Practice System as part of proxymed.com. The HealthWatch Web-based HES Practice System includes scheduling, registration, electronic medical records, billing and receivables, patient and provider services and comprehensive reporting capabilities.

David Engert, Chief Operating Officer of HealthWatch, pointed out in a company statement this agreement enables both of our organizations to offer our customers a more complete Web-based information solution for physicians by leveraging our advanced HealthWatch HES Practice System Applications with ProxyMed’s extensive EDI connectivity and Web Portal content. We are thrilled about the opportunity in front of us for the e-commerce physician marketplace.

According to Jack Guinan, President of ProxyMed’s eHealth Services division, This relationship further advances ProxyMed’s position as a provider of connectivity services not only to the users of desktop and client server systems but to users of web based services as well. The addition of practice management functionality to proxymed.com is a very valuable extension of the services proxymed can offer to it’s physician customers.
