Harwin, a hi-rel connector and SMT board hardware manufacturer, has upgraded its C90 MIL-C-5015-style commercial connector series for increased ease-of-use.
Compatible with other MIL-C-5015-style devices, the new C90 connectors are RoHS-compliant and feature re-styled aluminum alloy rear flanges and end-bells to deliver a more streamlined profile, said the company.
The new C90 connectores are available in 10SL, 12S and 14S sizes and with end caps and rubber bushing attachments to suit the entire product family, the newly-available connectors increase design flexibility, claims the company.
Termination options include cable, straight plug or panel mount style. Applications include mass transit, robotics, machine tools, welding equipment, extension leads, power cords and industrial and agricultural vehicles, plus COTS applications where Mil C qualification is not mandatory.
End caps are available with inner or exterior thread, so it is possible either to screw the cap into or onto the connector. Rubber bushings deliver IP 67 sealing, protecting the connector from water dust and chemical ingress.
Harwin worldwide catalog distribution manager Doug Steele said they believe that their redesigned C90 connector family will facilitate and simplify new designs while remaining compatible with other MIL-C-5015 products that already exist in the market.
