Fujitsu has signed a strategic agreement with Platform Computing, a provider of cluster, grid and cloud management software.
Under the agreement, Fujitsu will become partner for Platform Computing’s high performance computing (HPC) and cluster management offerings.
The agreement enables Fujitsu to provide its customers, including HPC-Wales, with Platform Computing’s cluster management software, Cluster Manager, which has been validated and optimised for Fujitsu’s PRIMERGY industrial standard servers.
Fujitsu will provide Platform Cluster Manager as the cluster provisioning and monitoring tool for its PRIMERGY server series, said the company. Platform Cluster Manager enables customers to deploy, run and manage their HPC clusters.
The agreement will enable Fujitsu customers to select from the PCM Fujitsu Edition: Basic Package and the PCM Fujitsu Edition: Enterprise Package, which also includes the iworkload manager, Platform LSF and Platform MPI.
In addition, Fujitsu and HPC Wales have recently announced that they are collaborating on research and training of researchers to advance the use of HPC in priority areas including: digital, environment and low-carbon energy generation.
Fujitsu technical computing solutions president Masahiko Yamada said the company is confident that this partnership will enable them to expand their High-Performance Computing business with Platform Computing offerings which help customers move forward to and remain at the cutting edge of its industry.
