1. Shutter
Making sure you take good photos starts with internal storage space, and the latest iOS app from StreamNation promises to provide you with an unlimited amount for free.
Instead of your phone, the photo app automatically uploads photo, videos and other details to the cloud, which are accessible through a browser or a desktop app, a smartphone, on TV with Chromecast or Apple TV.
Shutter, which is available in the App Store, includes filter and focus options for editing and an option to make certain files available offline. There’s also an option that allows users to share images with their friends via email or social media.
2. TouchRetouch
Whether it’s a fly, a bird or a stray person wandering into your photo or grey clouds in the background, this app lets you quickly and easily remove unwanted content from your photos for free.
Retailing at 69p, users can refine the selection area and re-apply the fill while keeping the rest of your image intact.
3. Snapseed
Retailing at £69p, this photo editing app allows users to make basic correction to exposure, colour, white balance and more with a high degree of accuracy. Users can then email and print, and post to social networking sites from inside the app. Snapseed also uses the iPhone 4’s LED as a continuous light to boost performance in murkier conditions.
4. Trunx
Similar to Shutter, the cloud-based photo sharing and storage app promises unlimited free storage for your images and videos for life. Available for iOS and Android devices, options include SharedPix, which allows users to create shared photo albums, and EchoPix, which allows users to add audio recordings to pictures.
The app also integrates with Dropbox, Facebook and Instagram it claims will allow users to retrieve and share photos with ease.
However, unlike Shutter, there’s no offline option and Trunx is only offering unlimited storage to people who sign up until the end of 2014. So if you sign up between now and then, you’ll get unlimited storage for life.
5. Facetune
Spot-free skin? Heatlhy-looking natural glow? This app will help you take your selfie to the next level. The £1.99 app gets rid of spots, smoothes out wrinkles, whitens teeth, enhances eyes and even fills in bald patches.
The interface is easy to use to and you simply have to zoom and pan, then use your finger to paint on the effect.
