The big buzz on the Enterprise 2.0 Conference’s home page was not whether bricks and mortar-style companies or even yesteryear’s dot-coms are ready for the Web 2.0 revolution, but the much more pressing conundrum: “Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?”

The Enterprise 2.0 Conference is running from June 9 to 12 in Boston.

Here’s the transcript in all its glory as culled from the Enterprise 2.0 Conference home page: the way they battle through adversity to find a solution to a problem so often facing ‘traditional’ or ‘Enterprise 1.0’-style companies is enough to bring a tear to anyone’s eye, don’t you think? Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?

I received an email telling me to download from this site. Can’t find them though. Has anyone else had any luck find them?

You’re not alone. I gave up and emailed the webmaster at webmaster@e2conf.com . The downloads link should be obvious but I see no UI for it–that or I’m suffering from Fridayitis.

Re: Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?

Thanks Holly. Glad to know I’m not alone. I was worried that:

a) it was very obviously visible & Fridayitis was clouding my vision

b) I was making a faux pas asking the second question on the board

Re: Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?

Alas, the webmaster email link doesn’t seem to be working either–at least not when I typed it in on my other machine (bounced back twice, and I checked for typos). I’ll try to keep an eye open for answers here but higher priority is finishing enough projects today to head for Boston with a somewhat clear conscience.

This is to me a perfect example of what can go wrong w great intentions for community sites.

Ah well.

Re: Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?

Hi there:

You can download your materials by:

Clicking “Session Zones” under the “Zones” section of your home page.

Click on “Monday Sessions”

You”ll get to a page with the different session materials. Click on a link to download – when prompted, enter the code provided in your email.

Hope this helps!

Re: Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?

Hi Holly-

Sorry that the email address webmaster@e2conf.com is bouncing. I’ve got an urgent call to my sys admin to fix it.

In the meantime, feel free to send me emails at adunne@techweb.com. That’s where it forwards anyway.

Let me know if I can help.

Thanks!

Alex

Re: Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?

I had looked there earlier but each of the sessions that I checked for Monday had 0 documents and 0 content. I just checked again just now and still nothing. I didn’t try other days. Can anyone else see anything?

Re: Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?

Sorry, I see what you mean — it would be nice if Jive bubbled up info from subsections. What that tells you is that there are no docs in the Monday section, because they’re contained in the session areas underneath the Monday section. (Heh, not sure if that makes sense.) The “zero documents” you see is because the docs are contained in the session listings which are like subdirectories of the “Monday Sessions” area.

Here’s an example of a session that has some presentations:

http://community.e2conf.com/community/sessions/monday/t1

What you look for on the Monday Session page (http://community.e2conf.com/community/sessions/monday), is the number next to the session in the “documents” column. That tells you whether there’s a presentation file associated with that session.

Again, apologies for any confusion.

Re: Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?

Sorry I’m still not getting it …. I clicked the link for the session with a presentation in it, and I still see 0 documents.

Do I have the right permissions ? (nothings asked me for the password sent in the email for example…….)

Re: Does anyone know how to download the tutorial material?

Sorry, not your fault — it was indeed a permissions issue. I’m trying to come up to speed on Jive admin very quickly. 🙂

Try it now:

Thanks so much for your feedback!

Many thanks Alex, the first beer is on me.
