Feisty leaser El Camino Resources Ltd, Woodland Hills, California, has diversified by acquiring the Engineering Facility Division of TriCom Inc, Troy, Michigan. The new business unit will be named El Camino Resources Ltd – Engineering Services and will focus primarily on the design and engineering segment of the manufacturing industry, with computer-aided systems using the IBM Corp RS/6000, Silicon Graphics Inc, Sun Microsystems Inc and Hewlett-Packard Co workstations. The privately-held El Camino now says it is doing more than $600m a year, and has had close to $1,000m of assets under management, but sad to say, in 1994, when revenue was over $500m, it said its purchase of lease assets from Bell Atlantic Corp should almost double turnover to some $1,000m or so (CI No 2,551).
