Virtualised computing platforms provider eGroup has introduced a new public cloud computing platform, eCloud v2.0.

eGroup claims that eCloud v2.0 will enable IT departments to meet escalating business needs, and help them access their applications and data anytime, anywhere, on any device.

The new platform suggests an application by assessing the customer’s technology needs and how the business is affected.

It also protects its customer’s environments from the Internet and from each other through hardware firewalls, with optional ‘hypervisor-level’ antimalware/antivirus/security software.

Hire Quest president and CEO Dan McNannar said the company did not have complete access to its hosting environment.

"It has to VPN and remote desktop multiple times to get to specific data," said McNannar.

"Utilizing the eCloud, Hire Quest has experienced the required level of control and the VPN and remote access is now clean and simple."
