Yesterday saw the UK launch of 10-week-old Netway Systems Ltd’ network resource sharing product, Myriad and accompanying software Lanbatch, designed for MS-DOS micros: essentially by plugging different cards or paqs into into three, five, eight or twelve slot Intel 80396 boards within the Myriad tower, users are able to access resources normally confined to separate PCs or – via Lanbatch – carry out lengthy compiling off the screen; the Slough-based firm, whose US sister Topaz Technology resides in Silicon Valley, is now looking for the right distributor and already has one anonymous – but Sid might tell you installation under its belt; Myriad prices start at UKP7,000, Lanbatch is available independently at UKP450.
