Canberra-based eDIME has 16 employees and annual revenues of about $1 million (A$1.7 million). The firm has developed more than 250 leading Web sites for a wide variety of government, commercial and community-based clients.
The acquisition of eDIME complements CSC’s e-business offerings and provides substantial growth opportunities across a range of markets in Australasia.
eDIME’s expertise in Internet consultancy, combined with CSC’s capabilities as an accomplished systems integrator, give us a strong advantage moving forward, said George Bell, CEO and managing director of CSC’s Australian Group. We will be able to gain entry into new markets and leverage our government experience across the commercial sector. This is a business that can only continue to grow as we forge ahead in the digital economy.
CSC has worked with eDIME for more than three years on a variety of projects, including the hosting of Australia’s largest live Internet site, the Australian Electoral Commission for the 1998 election. At a time of peak demand, this site received eight million hits in less than three hours. CSC and eDIME also designed the Australian referendum site, which recorded 12 million hits in the same three-hour period.
