Twenty businesses from across the UK have been shortlisted as semi-finalists for the second annual Cisco British Innovation Gateway Awards.
A dedicated judging panel from Cisco has selected the top 20 semi-finalists, whose businesses tackle technology challenges across Big Data, Collaboration, the Internet of Things and Mobility.
The special final event will take place on November 14, where the six finalists will present their business plans live to a judging panel before the winner is chosen.
The Cisco BIG Awards, in partnership with Right Management, Bird & Bird, DNX and Octopus Communications, aim to reward the UK’s most innovative startup digital businesses and SMEs with an investment of cash, technology and human resources.

The calibre of the entries has been outstanding and reflects just a snapshot of great British technological ingenuity. Cisco BIG Awards aim to discover and foster innovation and talent, and in these twenty semi-finalists I believe we have found some of the nation’s rising stars."
By developing Britain’s innovation eco-system, Cisco is striving to create an environment in which start-up digital businesses and their ideas can flourish.
The overall winner will receive a total prize package of $200,000, 12 months of mentoring and advice from Cisco and its partners. Runners-up and semi-finalists will also receive cash and technology prizes to support and accelerate the development of their brands and businesses.
