Westford, Massachusetts-based Cascade Communications Corp has introduced release 2.0 of its CascadeView network management system and six management applications. Comprising a graphically integrated Unix-based system, the offering provides distributed Simple Network Management Protocol-based management for its STDX 6000 and B-STDX 8000 and 9000 multiservice wide area network switches (CI No 2,670), as well as the Cascade 500 Asynchronous Transfer Mode family (CI No 2,696), said the firm. The applications comprise CascadeView Provisioning Server, which enables internetworking between Frame Relay and Asynchronous Mode networks; CascadeView Fault Management Server for fault detection through monitoring, intelligent traps and automatic event notification; CascadeView Health Checker Server for performance and cost analysis; CascadeView Accounting Server for network traffic and billing reporting; CascadeView Security Management Server for provision of access and auditing controls to the network; and Customer Network management server for performance information about publicly provided network services. CascadeView is out now and is from $25,000 depending on system configuration. Individual management function servers range from $3,000 to $15,000.
