Canon USA has expanded its imageFORMULA product line with the launch of new P-150 personal scanner. The company said the new product is suitable for use by ‘road warriors’ and office users for general-purpose distributed scanning applications to improve productivity.

The new scanner measures at 11 inches long, 3.7 inches wide and 1.6 inches high. It can scan a batch of up to 20 documents at its scanning speed of 15 pages-per-minute (ppm) in simplex, or 30 images-per-minute (ipm) in duplex scanning, the company said.

According to Canon, the new scanner features CaptureOnTouch Lite, a plug-and-scan capability allowing users to instantly start scanning without installing drivers of imaging applications. It includes ISIS and TWAIN drivers linking applications and scanners, for easy hardware integration with third-party Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software.

Jim Rosetta, VP and GM of imaging systems group at Canon, said: The new imageFORMULA P-150 personal scanner is an easy-to-use, mobile scanning device that can be utilized by a wide variety of commercial end-users. The combination of speed, advanced features and high image quality in such a compact footprint make this an ideal image capture solution for everyone from ‘on-the-go travelers’ to users in small offices.

The new scanner is available at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $295.
