The three-year contract will involve AT&T’s deployment of a Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) solution and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology. These will connect more than 70 East West Bank locations throughout California and Texas to two core data centers supported by the AT&T network backbone. AT&T’s MPLS network includes more than 1,500 nodes with service availability in more than 127 countries.

With the deployment of the SONET-dedicated ring technology, AT&T says that East West Bank will be able to ensure business continuity and provide the maximum network uptime for its users and customers to access financial information.

Over the last few years, we have experienced tremendous growth and were in need of a stable provider that could deploy the bandwidth, network reliability, and speed we require in delivering expanded services to our domestic and foreign customers, said Bob Dingle, CIO of East West Bank. We’re confident that the solution provided by AT&T will meet our networking needs and will help us continue to grow our business into new markets.
