Dear oh dear, IBM has got the Personal System/2 off to a truly terrible start: a full page display ad in yesterday’s New York Times and Wall Street Journal (presumably placed by IBM, although there’s nothing to say that it is) states simply In 1981, we introduced the world’s most successful personal computer. Here we go again; the last time the company ran an ad of that kind – clouds and angels and the tag sorry to bore you but we’ve got another miracle – it was for the UK launch of System 32, and we all know what happened to that.
