Enterprise application software firm SAP has signed a global reseller agreement with Cisco to offer SAP IT Process Automation application by Cisco to its customers.
The new software alerts the IT department when a system is likely to go or has already gone down and also detects incidents with non-SAP systems.
SAP said it also minimises keep outages, increasing operational efficiency and promoting service-level success while minimising IT upkeep efforts.
The agreement will see the two companies work together to deliver applications that leverage the Run SAP methodology and the SAP Solution Manager application management platform.
Leveraging Run SAP methodology and the SAP Solution Manager application management platform will provide an IT operations blueprint that aligns with business processes to help ensure continuous operations of applications and technologies across IT landscapes.
SAP Application Lifecycle Management Software senior vice president Stephen Spears said with SAP IT Process Automation, which is an extension of SAP Solution Manager, customers can leverage IT operations standards and Run SAP methodology through the definition of automated resolution workflows.
"This agreement between SAP and Cisco will further heighten the value and increase the adoption of SAP Solution Manager as the central platform for managing SAP solutions within SAP Enterprise Support services," said Spears.
SAP IT Process Automation integrates with SAP solutions, including the SAP ERP application, SAP Solution Manager, the SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse application and the SAP HANA platform.
