Alogent’s Straight Through Check Processing solutions integrate distributed points of presentment with regional processing centers to automate and streamline payment processing from deposit through to final resolution.
The end-to-end solution from Alogent reduces teller workload and improves transaction processing, said Peter Ruegsegger, senior vice president at Northern Trust. This infrastructure will enable us to address the evolving imperatives of Check 21 which include the use of image for process efficiency, and the ability to exchange images with other banks.
Northern Trust will deploy Alogent’s Sierra Xpedite, extensible deposit automation, solution to deliver image and data capture, validation and automated proofing and balancing of check deposits. Large deposits will be addressed by deploying Sierra Xpedite in a back counter mode in the largest branches.
Additionally, Alogent’s image based check processing platform, Sierra Clearing, will be deployed at Northern Trust’s Florida centers to process paper items that are collected centrally.
