American Industrial Systems has unveiled a new line of industrial automation panel PCs featuring a fanless Intel Atom Z series processors and LED backlit displays for ultra-low power consumption operation. The panel PC line is available in various mechanical designs such as open frame, panel mount, IP65/NEMA 4 sealed front bezel, and chassis configurations, ranging in sizes from 5.7inch to 15-inch.
The company said that the LED backlights offer low power consumption compared to standard CCFL backlights. The PCs are designed to be programmable and accessed supporting a non-proprietary-hardware based offering.
According to AIS, the automation systems monitor, control, and change the operation of electrically powered devices such as lighting, heating ventilation and cooling, and electrical generation. The PCs includes features such as Intel Atom processor Z530 and Z510, Intel US15W chipset, HMI touchscreen capable, wide operating temperature capable, industrial grade components for reliability and product life cycle, steel housing, open frame, IP65 bezel, and IP65 sealed LCD display.
In addition, the PCs also include some other options such as sunlight readable transflective films, privacy films, touch screens, wide voltage range boards, power over ethernet, wide temperature range modules, and shock/vibration enhancements.
