Troubled PC manufacturer Microworkz has been sued by Washington State for allegedly violating consumer protection laws. The Attorney General’s office has reportedly received 95 complaints this year about the Seattle-based company; mostly over its failure to deliver PCs to customers.

The suit, filed in King County Superior Court, alleges that Microworkz failed to deliver equipment, issue refunds or respond to customer complaints. The flamboyant former CEO of the company, Rick Latman, who remains chairman of the board, is named as a defendant in the case.

Microworkz hit the headlines this year when it announced the $499 Webzter PC and it followed it up with the $199 iToaster, a stripped down internet computer that uses the BeOS to offer email, word processing and an interconnect. However, trouble started for the company in August, when it fell it got slapped with a lawsuit with its ISP partner for the Webzter, Earthlink Networks Inc.
