CE Computer Equipment AG, a German provider of file and document management systems, has paid an unspecified sum to acquire Karlsruhe-based Netconcept Gesellschaft fuer Innovative Netzdienste mbH, thereby adding Microsoft Exchange to its existing Lotus Notes expertise in the groupware space.
In addition to its core business in document management, Bielefeld-based CE also has two other subsidiaries, both called Group GmbH, one of which provides connections between Lotus Notes and data systems, while the other develops security products for the Lotus Notes environment.
Netconcept, with its complementary knowledge in Microsoft Exchange, was thus a logical addition to CE’s groupware operations. In addition, however, it also brings its activities in the internet and intranet sector, where it offers products for online catalogs and electronic shops, particularly in the area of electronic payment systems.
