Lotus Development Corp is set to give up on the development of its Domino Server for NetWare, according to a report due out in today’s InternetWeek. If confirmed, the move would be a major blow to Novell Inc, whose NetWare operating system has been put under pressure by the increasing dominance of Microsoft Corp’s Windows NT. Lotus told the paper that it was no longer seeing much interest in a NetWare version of Domino. It was a business decision it said. Lotus cc:Mail customers who use NetWare – up to 90% of the 14 million user base by some estimates – will be affected by the decision and be forced to migrate to other platforms.
