Amazon.com has introduced its instant video app for Apple iPad to enable users stream or download movies and TV episodes from the online firm’s video library directly on their iPad.

Using the new app, Prime members can access and stream over 20,000 titles instantly on their from Prime Instant Video, including hit TV shows like Glee, Downton Abbey and Fringe, or popular movies such as Mission: Impossible 3, Mean Girls and Ocean’s Eleven, at no additional cost.

Amazon.com vice president for video Anthony Bay said the company wants to give customers the convenience of being able to watch all of their movies and TV episodes, on their iPad on the go.

"Today we’re excited to extend our ‘buy once, enjoy everywhere’ approach to iPad, giving customers the chance to enjoy more than 120,000 titles from Amazon Instant Video and more than 20,000 titles from Prime Instant Video anytime, anywhere," Bay added.

iPad users can simply search for the content they’ve already rented or purchased from Amazon Instant Video in order to watch movies or TV episodes on their devices.

The new video app for iPad features "Your Watchlist" section that allows customers make a list of all the movies and TV episodes they want to watch in the future, and "Your Video Library" section that gives users access to purchases and rentals from Amazon Instant Video online.
