A Norwegian company that claims to be Europe’s biggest online recruiting web site has won $22m in equity finance from a group led by international venture capitalists Geocapital Partners. Oslo, Norway-based Jobshop AS enables job seekers to search for a job and post a CV to more than 8,000 corporate customers including major corporations such as Xerox, Siemens and Nokia.
Jobshop, which currently operates in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Germany, plans to use the extra funding to roll out its service across continental Europe. The total job recruitment market in Europe is estimated to be worth $7bn a year and there are forecasts that 35% of this will be conducted over the internet in three years.
