Merisel Inc, the El Segundo, California-based hardware and software distributor, has reported a second-quarter net loss of $3.0m on revenue up 15.5% at $1.27bn, compared to net income of $5.1m, or $0.06 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Results include a one-time litigation-related insurance gain of $9.0m, the loss amounted to $0.15 per share, or $0.10 worse than the First Call consensus. For the six-month period, net loss was $23.5m on revenue up 14.7% at $2.52bn, against net income of $8.7m, or $0.11 per share, last year. Six-month results include the aforementioned gain and a $21m litigation-related charge, amounting to a net charge of $12m.
