Novadigm Inc has repackaged a version of its electronic software distribution technologies for use by ISPs, ASPs and other service providers, calling it Radia E-wrap. Novadigm has one product designed for use outside of company’s firewalls (Radia), the other for use within a corporate firewall network (EDM).
Radia E-wrap adds to Radia the ability to work within firewalls and therefore to be used by ISPs and ASPs which host customer’s messaging, applications and data at off-site locations. Radia E- wrap also brings support for XML, and for additional server and client platforms including Linux, Unix and Macintosh. The full function version will be available early next year. An ASP cut is due in November.
Novadigm believes the market for the distribution and installation of discrete and shrink-wrapped desktop software applications is morphing into one in which applications are delivered and used on a subscription basis and are upgraded often. Beyond.com is using Novadigm’s applications to deliver networks, subscription-based applications to small and medium- sized businesses. á
