Sterling Commerce Inc, the Columbus, Ohio-based provider of e-commerce software and services, has reported fourth-quarter net income of $19.8m, compared to a loss of $143.6m in the year-ago quarter, as revenue rose 15.4% to $160.4m. Earnings per share were $0.23. Excluding $22.6m in restructuring charges, earnings came in at $0.42 per share, or $0.02 better than the First Call consensus. Similarly, pro forma net income was $35.6m, flat with the year-ago quarter, which included $183.9m in charges. For the full year, net income was $123.9m, or $1.31 per share, on revenue up 27.1% at $623.1m, against a loss of $61.2m last year.
