Apple Computer Inc, which claimed in its initial advertising that its new G4 line of computers were classed as supercomputers and therefore restricted in the export market, now faces another problem. It turns out that in France, the radio frequency used by Apple’s Airport wireless modem is already in use by the French military. Airport modem cards, worth $100, will be bundled in with some models of the iMac and iBook, although a $300 base station is also necessary. They aren’t shipping yet, but are expected to do so in the next few weeks.
