Eastman Kodak Co’s proposed joint venture with America Online Inc, launched last year (CI No 3,414), has been delayed, according to the newspaper, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. The so called You’ve Got Pictures venture, under which AOL intends to transmit photographs electronically to its subscribers direct from Kodak developing labs, has been held up by the complexities of the software required for the task, the paper reports. The service, originally expected by the end of last year, now won’t emerge until some time in the summer. Kodak has a joint digital camera venture with Intel Corp, and earlier this week said it would support Sun Microsystems Inc’s Jini distributed computing technology. Jini could potentially connect digital cameras with local printers, or to picture developer service bureaus.
