ASUS has introduced a new motherboard, ROG Maximus V Extreme which is based on Intel Z77 chipset and supports a range of 2nd and 3rd generation Intel Core processors.
The new motherboard comes with a ROG OC Key attachment, which includes detailed OSD TweakIt and OSD Monitor for deep system parameter modification.
The new motherboard features Subzero Sense technology, which can quickly detect even deep-freeze cooling of critical components.
VGA Hotwire headers have been included for precise and complete DIY voltage regulation which comes with 10Gbps Intel Thunderbolt support to offer faster data transfers and better visuals.
OSD TweakIt and OSD Monitor work on the hardware level to enable real time adjustments and provide detailed system info, with no CPU resource penalty or software install needed.
ROG Maximus V Extreme includes a VGA Hotwire, which allows for quick DIY soldering of voltage points on the board and select ASUS graphics cards. This creates better board/GPU synergy and improves overall tuning performance.
The 10Gbps Intel Thunderbolt chip enables bi-directional dual-channel data transfer and high-definition graphics via a single cable.
The chip offers high data rates, enabling users to move a full HD movie in ten seconds, plus up to six compatible devices can be daisy-chained to a single Thunderbolt port.
Maximus V Extreme has five PCI Express 3.0 slots, two of which are native-linked to the CPU for latency-free graphics performance. NVIDIA 4-way SLI and AMD CrossFireX are improved with LucidLogix Virtu MVP multi-GPU optimisation.
ASUS’ new motherboard ships with an mPCIe Combo card, which adds instant dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth V4.0 support.
It also adds mSATA and works together with Intel Smart Response Technology to accelerate data access through solid state hybrid storage.
