StarGuide Digital Networks Inc, developer and manufacturer of digital satellite multimedia broadcasting technology, has brought out a new Ethernet module for its StarGuide II Digital Multimedia Receiver product family. The new module enables the delivery of streaming text, audio, and video data to local and remote LANs and PCs so broadcasters and non-broadcasters can use satellite transmission to send high-bandwidth, multimedia data to the desktop. Additionally, the new Ethernet Module enables broadcasters, cable companies, movie production companies and businesses to distribute digital audio and video programs to PCs more cheaply. The StarGuide II Receiver provides multi-channel per carrier operation supporting simultaneous digital audio, video and data services on a single receiver platform. Its modular architecture allows for custom configuration of up to five service modules per receiver, using either C or Ku-Band worldwide satellites. The Ethernet module will be out at the end of April at $900.
