Modem maker Boca Research Inc is now shipping its own set-top internet access device, which enables access though a television or monitor over an analog phone line. The box, called BocaVision, can also function as a Windows-capable workstation. It incorporates Citrix Systems Inc’s Independent Computing Architecture and works in conjunction with Citrix’ WinFrame server software, which allows end users remote access to Windows and other applications hosted on an NT server. Boca says it’s been manufacturing set top internet devices for others since mid- 1997 but now decided to brand its own. The product is shipping already and should go for just under $400.
