Unisys Corp and Deutsche Telekom AG have launched a new global sales and delivery offering for desktop services that is intended to exploit the growing market for desktop and network management services among Germany based multinationals.
The initiative, called Global Desktop Services, has clear benefits for both companies. Deutsche Telekom has the opportunity to offer its existing customers global roll-out and support capability for IT and telecommunications networks using Unisys’ existing infrastructure. At the same time Unisys gets the chance to sell its services portfolio to a set of German blue-chip customers.
The initiative will be provided by Blue Bell, Pennsylvania based Unisys’ Global Network Services unit and Deutsche Telekom’s Darmstadt based services arm Computer Service Management GmbH (DeTeCSM). The offer includes everything from network consulting, systems procurement and integration through to remote management, maintenance and support services using the existing capabilities of both companies.
