In a series of executive promotions, online brokerage house E*Trade Group Inc said chief executive officer Christos Cotsakos, who has led the company since March 1996, will be assuming the additional role of chairman of the board following the scheduled shareholders meeting in March. At that time, founder and current chairman Bill Porter will become chairman emeritus. In addition, Kathy Levinson, president and chief operating officer of the E*Trade Securities subsidiary now assumes the additional title of president and COO of the parent company, E*Trade Group. Other moves will see Lisa Nash, VP of corporate communications and customer management, Jerry Dark, VP of human resources, and Brigitte VanBaelen, formerly director of executive services, become officers of the company. VanBaelen also was also promoted to VP of executive services and community development, as well as assistant corporate secretary to the board.
