The results of a recent survey by International Market Assessment – the Australian local representative of The Economist – show that many Australian and New Zealand executives view information technology as a cost to business. More than 50% of senior executives who were quizzed in the study said that it was more difficult to unravel the exact benefits of IT investment compared to other areas of business expenditure. Nevertheless, there was no indication that IT spending would be pared back – 61% of respondents expect to increase IT spending over the next three years.
