Cruise Technologies Inc, the company that was formerly part of Compagnie des Machines Bull SA’s Zenith Data Systems unit, which was subsequently sold to Packard Bell, has appointed Tom Mayer as its chief executive, with previous CEO Chris Gladwin becoming chairman and chief technology officer. Gladwin was the inventor of the CruisePad wireless thin client, which is the Arlington Heights, Illinois company’s core product. Earlier this month Cruise won IBM Corp as an OEM partner for the CruisePad. Mayer was most recently a consultant, but prior to that he was chairman president and CEO of Syntellect Inc.
